Yad of the Irish
Good luck trying to lein Torah with that one! :)
Shira's Shot, March 1, 2011

For those of us who'll be observing Taanit Esther instead of celebrating St. Patrick's Day, I wish you an easy fast.

why is it one or the other? My grandmother was born in County Cork.

Same here, more or less -- Ashkenazi and Irish. Those two only came together in this country, though.

Better luck next year, JDub and Geoffrey--it's a lot easier for Irish Jewish eyes to be smiling when an Irish Jew isn't fasting.

Ha! Thanks, I sure hope so. I have a weird tendency to get sick whenever a minor fast rolls around, and today is no exception. I think it's a plot by my body to make me eat.

The Fast was only for 14 hours... that left 10 hours to get your drink on....

Hope everyone took it easy on the drinking. And hope everyone takes it easy on Purim, as well. Keep it safe, folks.
